ENGLISH - Ericeira is an old fishing village about 35 kilometers from Lisbon. During summer this small and charming town welcomes tourists from different parts of Portugal and also from other countries. If you are in Portugal consider Ericeira for one day. Besides the beach full of surfers and the picturesque narrow and old houses there are a lot of cafes, nice restaurants, interesting shops and an amazing ocean's view.

On August 16 the annual fishermen's festival is celebrated with a procession to the harbor for the blessing of the boats.

Historic fact: After the Republic was declared the last king of the country, Manuel II, left to the exile from Ericeira and never came back to Portugal.

PORTUGUÊS - Ericeira é uma antiga vila de pescadores há 35 km de Lisboa. Durante o verão esta pequena e charmosa cidade recebe turistas de diferentes partes de Portugal e também de outros países. Além das praias cheias de surfistas e as pitorescas e estreitas casas antigas há muitos cafés, bons restaurantes, lojas interessantes e uma fantástica vista para o oceano.

No dia 16 de agosto o festival anual dos pescadores é celebrado com uma procissão ao porto para abençoar os barcos.

Fato histórico: Depois da Proclamação da República, o último rei do país, Manuel II, partiu para o exílio de Ericeira e nunca mais retornou a Portugal.
